Hearts in Training was a new initiative for the year 2009. The HITs team includes children of Hearts of Durham members. They range in age from 5 to 14. We are proud to have inspired our children to find a place in their hearts for giving back to their community. The HITs team have a fresh outlook on fundraising and inspire us to look at what we do and why we do it with a new perspective. We hope that our children will learn many skills from this experience of working together and we know that they will grow into responsible young people who understand the value of living in a community that cares. In their first year, the HITs team raised over $1600 through clothing drives, books sales, bottle drives, and so much more. 2010 is promising to be a great success for everyone.
